I-751 timeline Form: What You Should Know

After you submit Form I-751, the Department of Revenue's (FOR) computer searches it for any derogatory information it may contain, such as criminal history. This can include a federal criminal history check or even a state search. If you believe your information has been searched by your state (or other) authorities, you can dispute the outcome by contacting the state. However, if you want to contest it by submitting a written notice to your state (by filing Form DS-160), you will not be able to use the “Request for Review” or “Notice of Expedited Review” option from USCIS (which you must use with your USCIS-approved petition). However, you may be able to request a review of the outcome from FOR, which will give you the right to a hearing (and may allow you to challenge the outcome). After it receives your notice, USCIS will not accept any further submissions about your situation, such as letters, notices or notices from another agency. If you are eligible under the law you have an opportunity to object to any adverse decision, based on a reasonable ground for disapproval  within 10 days from receiving notification from FOR and may make your objection in any language that, in the opinion of the OR, is legally acceptable to the OR. An objection under these circumstances will cause a letter to be sent to the petitioner notifying them that they have 30 days to resubmit if they want to resubmit. If they do not resubmit, this decision becomes final. A final determination will be mailed to the petitioner no later than two (2) months after an objection is received at FOR (and if applicable, any subsequent notice to resubmit). The purpose of the objection is to get USCIS to consider the application again in light of a change in circumstances  or to ask whether adverse action should be taken on the prior application. If you want to receive a response, you will need to wait until it is posted and filed in your file; if your petition is denied, you will not receive a response from USCIS.

Instructions and Help about I-751 timeline

Music guys, this is Giri. My visa has been approved, and I just checked the status of my green card application. It has been one year since I filed for my 10-year removal of conditions application. I have a seven-five-one or a ten-year green card. I checked the website, but it is still not done. The website says that my application has been sent to the local office in Colorado, even though I applied about seven months before that. This is very stressful because we are planning to go on a trip to another country next year, and my 10-year green card is expiring in the next three months. If it expires and I don't have it, I will have to apply for US citizenship. This is causing so many delays, and I can't let them ruin my vacation next year. I need to check my status on uscis.gov by typing my receipt number from my I-751 application and my A-number from my ten-year green card. After going to the website, I checked the processing times for USCIS. It says that the processing time for California service is 18 to 21 months, which is almost two years. I also checked the processing time for Colorado. It says 39 months, which is almost four years. This is madness. We might as well go ahead and apply for US citizenship instead of waiting for the green card. We want to travel, and we have plans for early next year. It's frustrating to see this. It has been one year since I applied, and I even had my interview for the two-year green card. They said it should only take six months if we properly document our evidence of marriage and everything they need for the ten-year green card. But that's not what's...
